Double Bet Calculator: work out returns before you stake
Double bets: reading your real return
A double looks simple on the slip, but the moment each-way terms or mixed odds formats appear, the maths stops being obvious. Before I commit a stake I run the numbers through a tool - a Double Bet Calculator review shows the exact payout instead of a rough guess.
Both legs must win, and the full return from the first leg becomes the stake on the second. That compounding is what makes doubles attractive and also what makes the arithmetic easy to get wrong when one leg is fractional and the other decimal.
With each-way doubles the place portion settles separately from the win portion, and the place fraction differs by market. A calculator applies the correct terms per leg. Bet responsibly and only stake what you can afford to lose.
